Northcott's Annual Cricket Legends Lunch comes home to the SCG

At the Baggy Green Blog I always do whatever I can to support organisations or events that benefit Australian Cricket or the community.

Cricket Champs (run by my contact Justin Sambell) is an organisation that I have given word-of-mouth support and it's been an absolute pleasure seeing how far the organisation has come in the last two years, especially with ambassadors Mike Hussey and Tom Moody on board.

Another organisation that I recently came in contact with is Northcott and this article is for awareness of their Annual Cricket Legends Lunch.

Northcott is a not-for-profit organisation which provides support to more than 11,400 children and adults living with a disability and their families and carers across NSW and the ACT.

Their upcoming 17th Annual Cricket Legends Lunch is to be held at the the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG), home of New South Wales Cricket.

As per the press release from Northcott's for the events (website link access here):

"The Lunch will feature first-class commentary by cricket legends and players alike, with ABC radio personality Adam Spencer acting as umpire and Master of Ceremonies. Guests are sure to be bowled over by the lively panel discussions following Test series against South Africa and Sri Lanka and One-Day International series against Sri Lanka and the West Indies leading into a gruelling Test series against India on the sub-continent.

Since the inaugural Northcott Cricket Legends Lunch in 1997, guests have enjoyed hearing
from cricket greats that include Richie Benaud OBE, Michael Bevan, Allan Border, Geoff
Lawson OAM, Merv Hughes, Mike Whitney, Alan Davidson AM MBE, Brett Lee and the Waugh brothers to name a few.

Guests will enjoy a three course meal, complemented by a selection of Australia’s finest wines, with all proceeds raised from the event to go towards Northcott’s Recreation service, which each year provides hundreds of children and adults living with a physical disability with the opportunity to participate in sporting and social based activities of their choice."

The event will be held on Friday, 15 February 2013.
