The New South Wales Blues produce some of the best world cricketers, unquestionably! The State also has the tendency to churn out really exciting, young talented cricketers.
They are also based at the legendary Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney.
New South Wales was one of the first founded cricket States and after the Board of control took over from the Melbourne Cricket Club to handle all Australian cricket affairs, they joined alongside Victoria. They were founding members alongside Victoria.
They are at their best when contesting in Sheffield Shield cricket. They have won an astonishing 45 titles since the competition was launched in 1892.
The State has produced legends, both in the past and present. Here are just a few of them:
Fred Spofforth, Bob Simpson, Doug Walters, Ritchie Benaud, Donald Bradman, Neil Harvey, Victor Trumper, Steve and Mark Waugh, Glen McGrath, Mark Taylor, Michael Bevan, Brett Lee and current Australian Skipper Michael Clarke.
